The Flat Rock Historical Society was formed in 1974. The mission of this Society is to preserve and communicate, to residents and visitors, the history and spirit of those who have lived in and near the City of Flat Rock from the beginning of human habitation or its vision as well as to bring our community together for the enjoyment, discovery, and learning of our past to create our future.
Our General Meetings are held quarterly in September, February, April and June. Following the meeting, is a special program that is FREE to all and open to the public.
Our Board meets monthly on the second Tuesday of the month at 7 pm in the Smith Hotel. Meetings are open to the public. Committee meetings are left to the discretion of the chairperson.
Annual membership dues are payable in June and based on our fiscal year. A monthly bulletin is emailed to anyone who signs up and The Telegraph, our newsletter, is published quarterly and is also available on this website.
The Flat Rock Historical Society organizes a Antiques and Flea Market bi-annually on the first Sundays of May and October and is held at the Flat Rock Speedway.
